Michigan Man Gets Two Years for Biting Mother's Face

JACKSON, Mich. – A 20-year-old Jackson man has been sentenced to 18 to 24 months in prison for violating his probation by being charged with biting his mother’s face.

Jackson County Circuit Judge John McBain on Thursday sentenced Antwan Caldwell for violating his probation on a previous marijuana charge by being charged with a felony.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports McBain scolded Caldwell for the December 2008 incident, which sent his mother to the hospital, and exceeded guidelines in imposing his sentence.

Caldwell is awaiting trial on charges including assault with intent to maim stemming from the attack.

A message seeking comment was left for defense attorney Jerry Engle.
